HARVEST! Tatsu-san with fresh vegies from his garden. Carrot, spring onion, turnip and daikon.
Amakusa has been such an amazing place. Staying in Furaibou with Tatsu will be one of the most memorable moments from this trip! Waking everymorning to fresh bread, spending the days reading looking out over the ocean, walking along craggy cliffs looking into turquoise clear ocean, spending every night eating AMAZING fresh and local seafood and vegetables, and speaking with amazing people. Last night, four ladies and the hitchhiker Yudai joined the party. The Kobe Obachans cooked us an amazing feast with Tatsu`s vegetables, and we sat up talking and drinking and feasting. There was so much food we ate the leftovers for lunch today!
I could not say an ill word of this place! I hope other people can find it, and come here to experience how magical it is! I will sorely miss it when we leave tomorrow.
As a special leaving event we are all going to Shimoda onsen tonight for a soak. Tomorrow, on to Kagoshima then Yakushima (which we have learnt has SNOW on it from Yudai who has just been there)! Uh oh!
